What are we all having for dinner?

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

(But Lidl pizza last night  - though I did heap the top with sliced home grown red onions first )

Actually it was horrible! All pizzas here are those horrid thin crispy biscuit base ones and this was inedible crispy on the edges and soggy in the middle. I just chose it cos it had mozzarella on the top which is a rarity in France where they think the cheese for pizza is gruyere. And no I couldn't be bothered to make my own that would have taken hours and frozen pizza/quiche is for when I have no bright ideas of what to cook for dinner! (which is quite often)

Think I'll make soup tonight containing tomatoes cos looking at my freezers I think it's going to take me a year to get through all these frozen whole toms, tom sauce and then there's the bottled tom sauce as well. I'll be harvesting fresh tomatoes again in 6 months time so I need to get a move on!

It really is scrape-the-barrel-£10-till-payday for us at the moment, and after a long week we are too knackered to do anything elaborate.
So I am thinking fish and chips - made with coley fillets, eggs, breadcrumbs and flour, and our homemade chips (but we are down to the tiny potatoes from last year, so they will be mini chips!)
May spend £1 on some ketchup and b.beans to have with if we are feeling decadent, or a tin of mushy peas!

Tonight it's home made chicken goujons and salad. DD is making a shepherds pie for tomorrow night - she's off school today and was supposed to have cookery - so the's doing it at home instead!

Braised fennel and borlotti beans with a potato 'dauphin', accompanied by mixed sprouted seeds, home-made chutney and roast beetroot.

Crikey, sounds posh.
