hahahahaha!!!!!!!!! I'm sure i I'd not met hubby when I did (and/or stayed with my ex of near that time) I'd now be pierced to the hilt, dreadlocked and tattooed lots. As it is my nosepin fell by the wayside a few years ago due to the pain of a cold, I'm down to one hole per ear and none of the tat or dread thing to be seen.
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very
ve-he-he-he-heryyyyyyy soooooooooooon!!!!

Hmmm - I won't be watching (we are TV free anyway)...but surely the main audience are kids/teens? Anything that helps children recognise a parsnip can only be a good thing. It may get them interested in growing veg - or even eating it!

Unfortunately, what those kids will see is a bunch of retarded "adults" who have never seen a real parsnip discussing whether or not it's a carrot (Hell, I'm giving them too much credit - they'll more probably be discussing whether it's food or not, on the grounds that it doesn't really look like a chicken nugget).

As someone recently said, if you want to be different, don't have a Tattoo.

I don't see Big Brother, seen bits in the past (we have Gran Hermano here, I don't watch that either)... How ever if they are growing their own, perhaps resorting to canabalism will draw in the viewers. Rather than voting one person to leave, they could choose who is going to be eaten

I already do have dreads down to my bum...actually more like to my knees in places

As to the housemates not recognising real food, I believe it was my countrywoman Helen (from a few years back) who asked 'Is there chicken in chickpeas?'...or it may have been that vile personage who's name is escaping me...the loud one...I want to say Jade...damn my memory!

Did you know that Bob Marley used to wear a wig (until his locks grew)?

I find "White Dreads" slightly embarrassing, for me it is mocking the culture. Usually a symbol of the "Trusta-farian" more than anything.

Obviously each to their own. :rr:

ps. I say this sincerely assuming that you are not a "White Dread" ocailleagh, if you are a white dread, nothing personal.

Lol I never knew that about Bob Marley!
And they're more blonde than white  but I'm far too poor and working class to ever be considered a trustafarian! I know what you mean though, I've met a few and they were less than non-irritating!
Dreadlocks do have a far more varied origin/history than as a Rastafarian thing though. I was surprised to see Hindu mystics with miles and miles of grey dreads piled up on their heads, for instance.
Mine came about after I'd had my hair (which was only just past my shoulders back then) braided and I wanted to keep it like it. After the bases of the braids matted up, I didn't have much choice so went for it!

cool ocailleagh, true what you say about the history of dreads. Having been an arse length hair wearer I know how hard it is to stop it getting knotted, I did experiement and not wash it for six months, when I did wash I expected the shampoo to be grey to black. I was living in the inner city, but not living round a campfire or anything. The soapsuds came out white! (I add that the rest of me bathed regularly). Used to be a dab hand at separating dreads for other people, you know how they can kind of clump up, especially at the back.

Dreads are very popular round here, the Basques see themselves as the European Aborigines, so the dreads carry a sybolic significance for many young to middle aged people. I've not seen a real Rasta in all the years I have been living here, but Bob Marley freaquently gets played in many bars.

So cool dreads man, what ever colour or ethnicity they are :flower:
