re-distribute and re-use then

hmmm - in a couple of shops local to me they are both food outlets and both use second hand plastic bags donated to them. the way they do it is they dont hand them out or wrap any food in them - but there is a box of bags and should you wish to take one, that is your affair.

as you say, books would not be an issue at all. - good luck - it all helps!

The lady who originally suggested this was shopping in Hereford the other day, and she came across a lady who was carrying a cotton bag marked "Torquay". Being Mary, she got talking, and found out that Torquay has a scheme where the WI ladies make the cotton bags and distribute them.

Our Co-op's plastic bags are bio-degradable (they really are - I've had the bottom of them on the ground together with contents numerous times) BUT I wonder - and does anyone know - whether they do genuinely completely break down or just break up?
