Can you tip the pots?

I've got some strawberries growing in a container, and i tipped it onto its side to drain the water out.

We've got bumblebees here too - they seems to be particularly keen on flying into the living room this year...maybe they like the ride out on a bit of paper!

My soil is very heavy to start with. Add six weeks of rain (bar 2 days) and you get the picture of drowning plants. No air at the roots. 1000 tatties, 900 onions and 500 brassicas.... not enough life belts sadly!

Roll on next year!
