That's very interesting about the chamomile tea. What a great tip.

I found that last year when we dug out our compost and repotted our rather pathetic lemon tree and not so bad olive tree which are in pots, we had tomato plants sprouting from the compost!

Tomato seeds obviously like to sit in a composter for a year or so.
If in doubt ~ use a hammer!

I think it was either last year or the year before, most of the tomatoes that we grew came from 'composted seed'! The main downside to that is that you won't know exactly what type of tomato they are when it comes to moving the seedlings to their final growing position!

My sunflowers are all bird seed volunteers this year! I've transplanted them all from the base of the bird feeder. I have no idea what to expect!

Chamomile tea

Post: # 3175Post hay331 »

I have used chamomile for lots of things over the years, (drinking, creams etc) but never for plants! Can you give me an idea of ratios, eg, 1 gal rain water boiled, to how many tea bags, and how long to infuse?

I was told "weak camomile tea", so I used half a tea-bag to a pint of boiling water. I just left it brewing until it was cool enough to use. I've also used it at one tea-bag to a pint of water - the only difference is that if you store it, you get much more tannin scum!
