RAF/Navy related question here...
I'd a thought it'd depend on how the dyslexia is manifest really.... I am dyslexic (or at least learning disabled) and was a cheif engineer and manager for ITV's interactive TV output as well as worked on the BBC's web and interactive TV infrastructure, both of which are jobs that require good writing, spelling and sequential reasoning skills. I suck at all three, but have learnt to cope. If I can do that, I wouldn't see why I could work in the RAF or Navy, however, if they still do the aptitude tests I could see myself failing them... so I'd tell him to give it a go. Richard Branson is dyslexic, the guy who started a Kinko Kopier (huge huge American company) is dyslexic, amongst many many other people... most of which, I reckon, became business leaders because they weren't very employable (apparently Richard Branson still gets 'net' and 'gross' mixed up, much to the annoyance of his accountants) so tell him not to be upset if he doesn't get in :-)
