plastic bag rope

I would find your cutting into strips method of making rope far too labor intensive . The whole bag is much stronger . It is after all just a temporary rope for tying up mirrors to carry or bundlels of yard debris (branches and limbs ) , or even tying up the Christmas Tree box that got ratty .
It is " making do " , with the materials ( resources ) you have at hand or available at a very cheap price . I've seen some nice wreaths and things made with plastic bags . Personaly , they turn me Off .
Years ago my Grandma tought me to make dafodills out of yellow tissue paper or craypaper . She was a hat & dress maker . I bet thin plastic would do the same job .
