I needn't have worried - it is delicious! Even better than the bramble jelly!

I found this on about the 15th google page (yawn!).

IGNORE the metric measurements - they are wrong! Go by the imperial and translate into metric if need be.

I didn't bother with the butter bit either. Well actually I forgot but I found there was a lot more scum than doing the bramble jelly.

Good luck!

.....not done very much!

We ate our entire crop of 2 corn cobs for lunch one day. They were very tasty.
The courgettes only put on male flowers (I didn't know they had male flowers!) so even though the plant is lovely, no courgettes.

The tomatoes are fantastic, but only ripening as fast as we can eat them, so no bottling happening.

And finally, we let my 84 yr old, increasingly dotty mother, plant some rows of cabbages, sprouts etc. When we checked they were all radishes  So I've made some Sauerkraut-style radishes.

On the up side, we've carried on renovating our bunker - created the new shop, painted and floored the hall and one bedroom, built a shed, and several garden chests and laid paths made of the cinders from the boiler. We've also bought, mainly secondhand, everything we need to renovate the kitchen and bathroom, just need to get the flooring sorted.

So, as I said, not a huge amount

Not so sweet when it's pretty much all you've got to eat. I've never seen so many radishes - she must have used a whole packet

There are some carrots and spinach but that's it. Of course, I should have checked more carefully, I thought they looked a bit odd, and remarkably similar, but a whole metre square bed of radishes

Hopefully next year she'll not get involved and I can have my garden back

Perhaps if she does still want to be involved you could give her the right packet of seeds? Just glad to hear you didn't transplant hundreds of baby brassicas only to find they were all radishes! Sorry but that really would have been funny!

Made 3 batches of apple and cinamon scones, 2 of cheese, a batch of biscuits, some orange buns, put a casserole in the slow cooker and set a loaf of bread off, tidied up the kitchen afterwards - and in about 10 mins I'm off to my friends to celebrate the fact that this week she begame a granny - and she's 6 years younger than me!

Well this summer I have:

Replaced the ceiling in my downstairs cloakroom (it's only been missing for about 5 years) and boxed in the pipes and electrics.

Fixed the leaky shower and repaired the ceiling in the hall below.

Made a blind for the cloakroom from old tea towels.

Swapped over the spare bedroom and study and redecorated the new spare bedroom, including building a new airing cupboard around the cylinder.

Repointed the block wall of next door's garage which makes up one wall of my car port (with their permission of course) and then painted the wall and turned the car port into a greenhouse. Repaired the metal windows and repainted 3 out of 5 of them.

Planted and harvested: tomatoes, aubergines (1) peppers, guatemalan ground cherries (which have turned out to be physallis), squashes, beetroot, peas, beans, cucumbers, sunflowers, garlic, onions.

Harvested plums, blackcurrants, rhubarb, gooseberries, apples, physallis, apples, damsons, strawberries, loganberries, not many raspberries, grapes (first time this year), hazlenuts (also first batch this year).

Studied for the Open University.

Cleaned the patio

Re-oiled the patio furniture

Stripped the varnish from two of six dining chairs

Made a new raised bed

Lots of pruning, trimming, cutting back, weeding and generally tidying up

Made a patchwork quilt

Painted a few pictures

Made a patchwork bag and some other bits and pieces

I'm sure it didn't take me 6 months just to do that little lot so I must have done more than that. Will edit if I remember any more.

Cheers
Zoe
