Well, as long as you're not overly given to self-criticism... People keep telling me I'm quite good, but I think everything I've ever recorded is unbearably dreadful and listening back to it usually makes me want to quit forever.

With playing guitar on any musical instrument for that matter, I always thought if you can play in tune then it's only a matter of practice before you're any good at it. And if you can't play in tune then don't even bother trying.
