I was just wondering about snuff because it might be an idea for on planes or long train journeys or anywhere where you can't smoke but you are climbing up the wall because of it. No problems smoking on a hike cos one is outside!

Many thanks for the pointers! There's a small tobacconist a few miles from me, apart from that I'm having to travel a good distance to get baccy. I don't smoke very often though so it does last me.

That's why i bought a tin, for those rare moments - you can get a tin for under a £1 !

Probably better off using a less vile form of NRT... There's plenty of options out there.

Well, there is a Nicorette Nasal Spray... which is in effect the same as snuff but around £20. A months worth of snuff can cost a £1. No i don't have the cahoneys to do it full time but for those rare moments when i am unable to smoke i think snuff can be an option.

Ah well I've got my tobacco seeds now so from next year I'll just be able to whip out a leaf and have a munch. Where's the spitoon on a plane?

Yuck, don't chew it - better to go up your nose apparently. BTW, snuff is not for like 30 mins after a cigarette but more like over an hour at least after when you're on the verge of climbing the walls - or you'll give yourself a headache.

As for growing the stuff, get a briar pipe - and stick it straight in once dry... no need to roll a cigarette. Super cheap! Make sure you buy a good variety of tobacco... and its taste is also depending on sun/soil.

I was joking, I'm not getting into chewing baccy, I'm sure that's more antisocial than smoking it!

What's with this get a pipe business though? Are you male or female? I'm obviously female and I'm not going to start smoking a pipe! Pipe tobacco (the smell of) makes me feel really sick - really sweet and cloying; I don't like cigar smell much either to be honest.

Depends on your tobacco, MMM. My Dad used to smoke Gold Block in his pipe - deeeeeelicious. My uncle smoked St Bruno

I am male Molly but i know of plenty of females that smoke a pipe in Europe. It's super cheap once you've bought the pipe... easy to grow your own... and it has such a varied range of tobacco so you'd never get bored... ranging from virginia that will smell like regular tobacco through to many other types. Plus, pipe smokers usually live to a ripe old age! It will save your lungs. I enjoy cigars but yes they stink.

But what did your mum and aunty smoke in theirs?
