Will have to try that and also ask Nev about the chemical reason that it works?

Hedgewizard - I think he has flown off now not seem him for ages and the plants are all still aphid free

I wish I could say the same for the allotment  I shall go up later armed with beetroot juice, nettle juice and some more washing up liquid spray. That was my first thought as well M3, I supose you could use

Yellow card greenfly solution

Hi,
We had a greenfly infestation in our conservatory this year, after lots of spraying brushing etc, which while keeping the numbers down was by no means a solution I came across the ultimate winner. they are pieces of yellow card with a sticky glue on them, the greenfly etc are drawn to the yellow and stick on the glue. I wouldn't use them outside, the prospect of finding a butterfly stuck isn't one I'd like to see, but for our conservatory it has been a real winner. I bought mine cos I was after a fast solution, but if I have a recurance I am figuring on trying some flour and water paste on some yello plastic I have. it should have the same effect.

Good-o. If you can't find any aphids you can always make some soup up and clean the pan off afterwards! Colhut, let us know how you go on - I don't personally think the flour-and-water thing will work as it'll probably dry out pretty quickly... honey might work for longer but I can't think of anything natural that won't dry out. Soft paraffin's pretty harmless though.
