Don't forget when you use your quilting hoop to keep the quilt fabrics loose in the hoop rather than tight as if you were going to embroider it.Keaniebean wrote:I'm going to have a go at the little quilt I made which is a much smaller cot bed size one and not nearly as intricate a design. I think once i have done that it will give me a better gauge as to how well i would manage a much bigger one. i intend to use a childs stencil and wasable marker pen for that one, so i'll let you know how it goes.

That's really amazing Keanie and I can't imagine how you even do that (and have no idea what quilting involves at all) but I am very impressed!

Thanks for the advice Big Al, but I was going to do it on the machine, although last night was spent sewing on buttons, so anything's possible

fantastic quilt - well done.
I think that practising on the smaller quilt will you give a better idea of how or if you want to tackle the larger, good luck, and lucky mum!

That is GORGEOUS! Because of the detail, I'm thinking you could do some simple tie quilting; basicly a hand sewn knot through the basted layers at strategic points (gorgeous jewel-toned threads; yum).
Well done!

Hi
I just wanted to say wow, that is a brilliant piece of patchwork. I have just completed my first piece (trousers for my little boy) and you have inspired me to try some more.
