French beans - what can you do with them?

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

I'm talking about baked beans Graham, not French beans as pods.
Dried haricots in tomato sauce sort of thing, and mine are cooked for several hours in a slow cooker, and they are definitely worth eating. :iconbiggrin:

If you have a big enough glass or stone pot, you could try salting them, apparently they work very well, and you just rinse and change water a couple of times then cook as normal...
