29. Live entirely 'off the grid'
30. Shop for an entire year WITHOUT putting money in the hands of Supermarkets (which infuriate me)... we shopped completely locally for one week and it felt great!
31. Cut our food bills by fishing / foraging for food as much as possible and take advantage of the huge resources locally.

37 Learn and use traditional skills like knitting, rug making etc
38 Change household and body cleaners for ones less full of nasty stuff
39 Decide whether or not it is necessary to have more than 5 ingredients in anything.
This is a really interesting thread - I wonder how many of these we actually do or have done and how many we will start doing as a result of this!

Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Re: 101 ethical things to do before you die
In the book "101 things to do before you die" you only do the thing once, like "Join the mile high club" or "crowd surf" etc, but in the "101 ethical things to do before you die" list, the things are more changes you might make that would last a lifetime rather than something you do once for the experience.
I wonder if we could come up with more things that you would just do once? This could actually be quite hard because what would be the point of say using more natural body things just once?

seriously...what about swimming with seals in the wild as a once in a lifetime?? I did it in NZ and it was such a wonderful experience as they wanted to be with you and were so playful and pleased to see people. They were not encouraged or fed just saw the boat coming and all leapt into the water to join us. Trouble is I want to do it again!!

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

Hehe heh I like those a lot boboff!
Ruth, it depends how you get to the place where you swim with the seals? That might not be so ethical!
How about:
36. Sponsor a seal.

What are you sponsoring him to do?? If he was being sponsored to dig the garden or make a chicken run or something then it'd be ethical twice!
