Hmmm... maybe you're right Nic. I might start off with an open box & see what happens. If it looks like money goes missing, I'll have a rethink - you never know though..... but then it only takes one dishonest person to cock it all up for everyone else :?

I might have another go at wine makng as well - my last effort might be ok - but as I don't drink, I've not tried it!
Elderflower wine tasting later then....... :drunken:

HONESTLY  you sound incredibly well prepared to me. I wouldn't risk a change box but that's just my opinion :dontknow:

Good news about the signs and lavender is always popular :salute:

One thing you might want to consider Julie is to research the legal side a bit.
I have no idea what the situation is now with the upsurge in farmers markets in just about every town in Ireland, but when we first moved here it was illegal to sell potatoes if you weren't a registered grower and you couldn't legally sell eggs if you didn't have all the necessary bumf, and I think selling alcohol is probably still a no-no without a licence.
Mind you, if you live at the back of beyond it probably doesn't matter so much.
Sorry about being a bit of a downer, but it's better to be wise before the event. :study:

Tony, I didn't even think about the alcohol licensing thing!
Maybe I'll sneak the odd bottle on here & there & keep my fingers crossed.....

In the meantime, I'm a bit crap at growing spuds, so I probably wouldn't be selling those - maybe as 'compostable pea-stone gravel'......... haha!
But I will look at the ins & outs of egg selling... I need to contact the department about getting a herd number anyway to forward the pig plan, so a bit more research wouldn't do any harm!

Thanks for the heads up

OK, I'm happy...
Firstly, as long as I have less than 50 hens, I can sell my eggs privately with no problems

Quoted from the Irish Dept of Ag...... "producers may sell their own eggs directly to the
consumer from their own farm and by door-to-door selling provided the eggs are
not graded or packed in the manner set out in the marketing standards legislation."

So... I shall pop the eggs into a bowl, or a few egg trays & leave the egg boxes at the side for the people to pack their own - cool!

Thanks for that, Tony!

All made with 2 x 2's, 2 x 1's & plywood - a couple of wheels & a splash of paint - all we need now is a customer.....

 Fatal Flaw!! Bloody rain...... a bit of tweaking is necessary to provide a clear plastic cover on the inside..... I have some dowelling so I shall make it that it can be rolled up & down when the rain comes - oh, life would be so much easier if I had stuck to growing pretty things & got my nails done once a week......
