Hi de Hi
First nice day this year. Haven't planted my spuds yet, only growing Charlotte this year as they were the only one's that didn't get the blight or eaten by the slugs. Plus they make excellent roast potatoes and are good for salads etc. haven't tried them for chips but will try this year. Can't remember are they main crop or first earlies? Any way I'll bung them in if this weather carries on for a week or so :cooldude:
Kind Regards

You're sensible Susie and I wouldn't be doing anything either, but with going on holiday last half of April I do have to do some things before I go! Normally I wait until beginning of April and then start planting early things like spuds and onions and a few seed - but this is rather dependent on whether the ground is wet or whether I've been able to prep it ready for sowing seed.

So given my soil was frozen a couple of days ago I don't think it is going to reach planting temp for anything just yet.

I have to say that I see this year after year on Ish, everybody rushing to sow/plant as early as possible, then having disappointing results. Just be patient and wait a bit longer!

It's like that in my chicken runs - I've never seen it like that ever before. The lawns here still are green with grass (and a lot of moss!) but the hens and the weather have just destroyed the grass in the runs. :(
