Improve Your Life? NOW.
Re: Improve Your Life? NOW.
I'm still stinging over this one and am left with a distinctly bad taste in my mouth. I responded to what I read in what I considered to be a helpful manner. I still don't think I misread anything. However, if histrionics is going to be the response to good intentions, I, for one, will be keeping my mouth well and truly shut in the future.

Don't worry, Mike. I think someone's just having a bad day, which doesn't excuse rudeness.
I suggest we remove this whole thread - having come across it fairly late it makes no sense anyway.

Hey Mike, don't sting.
I got what you meant - not your fault at all.
It is easy for things to be taken the wrong way in emails, sometimes it entirely depens on the mood of the reader.

Re: Improve Your Life? NOW.
I'm totally confused, but for my part the one thing that's been improving my life lately is moving my goalposts. instead of trying to keep to other people's benchmarks of acheivment and normality, I've made my own. for instance you probably think nothing of walking to the loca shop on your own for a loaf of bread, making it there and back in one piece. I think the world of it, I congratulate myself every time I get somewhere and don't end up a gibbering wreck.
so. yeah. Tea anyone?

I think some of your postings go over the top of people's heads, especially when you are pointing out the finer points of grammar and punctuation and apostrophes.MKG wrote:I'm still stinging over this one and am left with a distinctly bad taste in my mouth. Been there, done that and still suffer. I never realised you had a problem with anything like that because you never mentioned it, but I've been plagued by phobias and panic attacks nearly all my life, in one way or another. Moving to rural France helps - no tube trains out here!mrsflibble wrote:I'm totally confused, but for my part the one thing that's been improving my life lately is moving my goalposts. instead of trying to keep to other people's benchmarks of acheivment and normality, I've made my own. for instance you probably think nothing of walking to the loca shop on your own for a loaf of bread, making it there and back in one piece. Re: Improve Your Life? NOW.
I've never stayed long enough to find out MMM - but it sure as hell would make me bleat or squeak....
I was actually referring to the pipe band march to the games field

What, you've moved to the highlands and never witnessed the Games?

It was the Douglas Adams quotation about not being able to solve life's problems with just potatoes. This one will serve me better as a constant reminder.
