Ann,
the Big Flea Markets in my area are just like what you said.
But there are Little ones that pop up in the summer,
that are just folks getting rid of there junk.
Funny thing is, the City Officials continually
try to stop the Little flea Markets, But actually
celibrate the Garage and Yard Sales.
In fact, twice a year our town has what they
call a "City wide" garage sale day.
encouraging as many garage sales as possible,
Charities will have raffles and food stands.
the City will advertise to try and get people from
other towns to come to our town, just to ramble through our Junk
and then buy it. :wav:

Blooming heck - making a tourist industry of the disposal of tat  I suppose that it gets the stuff off into another town so that if people change their minds, the waste disposal is some one else's problem.

yea traders can be a pain - but with a bit of practice you can usually spot them - the ordinary folk are usually much more amenable to a bit of haggling  - and cheaper and they guys at the foot ball club are pretty on the ball if traders cause problems - but the other one on a Sunday has had a bit of a reputation for "hooky gear" and was closed down for a while - the police keep an eye on things with that one - but never seen them up at argyle

but like everything it just takes a bit of common sense - and if something good is tooooooooo cheap - beware - most folks are as honest as the day is long though - and certainly the recession has brought some good stuff out of garages and cupboards
the validity of ones ideas are best measured by the resistance they attract

and if enough people tell you are WRONG - do it ANYWAY !!
