Paddy, acorns are best eaten as bacon butties IMHO, ie fed to the pigs as treat. (To much hassle to make 'em fit for humans otherwise.) But I'll definately give 'em an other chance...I might like this time, watered with soft Irish rain.

Pinion pine is the best - they have exceptionaly large cones that you harvest then place in a sack in a warm place to dry. they open as they dry and the nuts (seeds!) fall out and are easily collected.Millymollymandy wrote:How does one harvest pine nuts though - I've often wondered about that?
