I see you're already using Frontline, which is great. You can also get Frontline Combo which stops eggs from developing in the carpet. Indorex spray will definitely get rid of them. One spray stops the eggs growing in the carpet for a year, and kills adult fleas for two months. I'd try it if your poor animals are suffering. However, it isn't eco in the slightest and I'm keenly looking for a proper alternative. For anyone reading this thread who has cats, please be really careful using essential oils on cats and read up properly on it first. I don't know anything about using them on dogs.

I saw on the telly the other day that if you stick a flea collar in your vacuum bag then that stops them populating in there and hoping out to recolonise!

About thirty yeara ago, we went away for about four days during the Summer. Upon our return the house was full of fleas, jumping everywhere. We had a small dog.

My solution was to get the garden sprayer, and remove everybody from the house and sprayed everywhere. Next day no fleas. I don't even know what I was using at the time. It was probably one of the current poisons like malathion.

My house is now officially flea-free. I haven't seen one in a couple of weeks.

My dog had a flea collar, though this just seemed to mean that the fleas stayed down her bottom end. It certainly didn't mean that they jumped ship entirely.
I also used flea spray in various places where she slept, but that didn't seem to make a lot of difference.

What really made the difference was combing her every time she set foot outside the front door, with a nit comb, and killing the fleas one by one. Then, when we got back from the walk, I'd hoover the places where she lay down, sometimes morning and evening, depending on how energetic I felt.

She still sits down as soon as she goes outside every morning to be combed - she enjoys that bit.
