sorry to hear you had worries about the chocks.
I am finding them very chilled out, I thought they where meant to be stressed and flustered for a few days, these girls are acting has if they have been here for ages. My OH also thinks so, and she has kept chickens before.
and I had no idea that they shat to much!, the bottom box I moved them in was covered !!
there was no sign of reddish droppings in the box so it must have been the last few poos.
I am shocked I found a webpage of poo so interesting!
they where from these people www.deanbank.org.uk , it is a nice setup, they also do poultry courses for people new to keeping poultry, so they are not a "thanks for the money, bye" sort of setup. they buy in chicks and raise them, these ones are 17 weeks old, and cost £10 each (which I think is reasonable)
(and Cat is a perfectly good name for a cat)
