One of my neighbours used to cut every minute twig or leaf growing from our plants through or over her fence. She was really obsessive about it and seemed to think it was perfectly normal. It didn't bother me because my garden looked lovely but her's looked so bare and neat!
On the other hand in another house we had part of our next door neighbours tree fall through our roof during a gale. The tree was a huge uk lime tree I believe, very neglected and never pruned so had become very dangerous.
Do you think you and your neighbour will be able to stay on good terms now you've made her aware of how upset you were at seeing your plant butchered?
