Hi diver, doing my best to loose the ish but it seems to come down to lack of land, time, and at the moment energy (baby due in June and Im already tired and heavy!) Thinking of buying a small plot of scrubland to plant and coppice and trying to produce more food than ever this year now that the cottage is habitable! Had great fun finding recycled stuff to use in renovations. We are hoping that this year will be our best year ever in the ish stakes and that we can back off a bit more from "normal" society!
Now, what did I come in here for??????

I dont think my life would be interesting enough, especially as I only have hens at the moment, not as if I have the excitement of lambing or the like. I was actually thinking that your life is far more interesting, especially as you have acreage and therefore more scope,in real terms Im just a backyarder!hedgewizard wrote:Write a blog. Seriously - the rest of us would love to see what you're up to. When you have time that is. Like, say, in another five years?

Nothing wrong with that!

Oh no,of course not,its just that its not very exciting reading is it? Its not as though I could say I had been up all night with a difficult calving,or had a major adventure on my x amount of acres, most of what I/we do is humdrum, theres the bread to be made daily, flour weekly, taking care of the kids ect, hardly entertaining! Having said that we do have weird things happen here, mountain fires (that was scary!) missing people, that happens a lot and of course the local "characters" of course wrinting about them would get me shot,or at least ex-communicated from village life!
