101 Pasty Recipes

101 Uses For is popular and let's hope it stays that way. Our second book is presently called 101 tips for self sufficiency; we will certainly dip into this section for ideas. So post away and let's try and get at least one thread up to 101.

I make mine with leftovers for next day's lunch so we have sampled

paella
green thai fish curry and rice
lamb biryani
roast chicken and stuffing
puy lentils and sausages with sage butter
rabbit casserole

All of them most yummy and very welcome as a hot lunch on a cold winter day.

I also do pasties for the summer when we have bbq leftovers, cut up bits of leftover meat, shape the pasty as normal butl eave the side with the pinched closed bit left a little bit open, bake as normal with a bit of tomato salsa or green pesto, or bbq sauce, then when cool, shove a bit of finely chopped lettuce and onion in the hole in the pastry and add a squeeze of vinagrette.

I got a recipe for sweet potato pasties off the vegan village website - they're so good. You can look it up on their site of I can post it if anyone has difficulties.
