I'lll join and im a boy
started 5 weeks ago at 17st 2 lb and now down to 15st 12lb do thats 1stone 4 lb or 18 lb.
I want to get to 11ish stone as that is what i should be for my maximum BMI (25) or so they say but not to bothered really but need to lose loads more before i think about stoping
Im doing a basic no carb dietso no bread, pastry, pasta, rice or potatoes but I dont worry about all the other carbs in beans, pulses and lentils ect so its not as bad as the atkins.
We were recomended this diet by a sergeon at the hospital and its safe and seems to be working.
we still have roast dinnersbut no potatoes, and normal meat and 3 veg dinners.
I have cauliflower cheese even though there is a little flour in it but you cant be to stricket on these diets or you loose the will to continue.
I have had full indian take away since i have been on it in on a day we just wanted a treat and after it i didnt lose for 3 days but it started coming off again so it shows that once in a while you can eat what you want and stuff the diet, just remember to get back on it the next day.

I heard that spicy foods can help to boost metabolism (not sure of the science behind it so it could be codswallop) - Indian foods often have a lot of oils in them but if you cook them yourself and reduce the oil (or spoon it off) then it won't be as fatty.

Chilli certainly helps boost metabolism but my take away was a meal deal with 4 onion bargies, 3 popadoms, naan bread, chicken dansak, bombay poratoes and pilau rice but it did last me 3 days
still like i said it satisfied my cravings for another month so its a good thing.

Good for you Pilsbury. Sounds like I have some competition here
You're doing really well, keep it up.
I think that it's really important to find an eating plan that you can stick to once you reach your target. Otherwise you'll just pile the pounds on when you stop your diet.
Lots of vegetables is good and apparently calcium helps to break down fat so lots of fat free yogurts, cottage cheese and fromage frais.

I put on 8 kilos in 5 weeks. How the hell did that happen? I've been eating lots of lovely veg soup and healthy stuff, and i've been taking Finlay out every day.
Went in for my op last week, and he measured me as putting on 8 kilos!! (mind you, i didn als gain 1 1/2" at the same time...).
