Hello out there?!

Post: # 93954Post jcwoodzy »

Okay so i own about 30 chickens (which right now i want to cook for sunday roast, but hopefully by 2morro after wing clipping peace will be restored!), 2 pigs which i hope to breed from if i can ever find a boar, some ducks, geese, couple of dogs and i own my beloved veg and flower polly tunnel which hopefully this yer i will start to sell some produce from. I live on a holiday farm which use to be a working farm. I moved in and have tried to create a nicer atmosphere with having the odd farm animal around, while attempting to make them pay for themselves. So far they cost me a lot of money! The chickens wouldn't be too bad but at free range egg selling i think i'm too soft and charge far too little. Anyhow hello anyone whose reading this drivle, would love to chat and swop ideas and gain advice (as well as moaning when things go horribly wrong like today, free range chickens over 26 acres and holidays cottages = mess and disaster! I wanted to pen the chicken loving dog up but alas the chickens got their new electric fence and the buggers keep flying over it or trying to push through it! Even my pigs get a shock and stay clear- are my chicks just well hard and pain free?!!) Sorry been rambling on, been a long day!

I'm in worcestershire near a little village called clifton-on-teme. Just clipped the wings and all seems well so far, apart from my collie touching the electric fence, screaming and deciding he dosent like me anymore and has run away down the fields to be with the fishermen!
