Anyone had any luck growing Golden Seal ?
Alaskan in England.
From 34.26 acres and a Log cabin, to a two-up two down terrace in town and back to the world of money.

I have not come across it on my travels it being a woodland plant, i know it is native to north america and the native indians use it alot in medicine but not sure if it is grown in the uk, but i could be wrong !.
Would be a great plant to grow, i will try and source at my mates garden centre,

Golden seal is amazingly strong ,I've used it for infections rather then pharmaceuticals. It used to grow wild where I grew up in Minnesota USA,but has become rare.At serveral hundred US dollars per Lbs. it's being over gathered.I'd like to start growing some.

Had a talk from the herb society at garden club this evening so I asked about golden seal. Aparently it likes dappled shade but not under a tree as this would compete for nutriments/moisture.
