I knew a barmy vegan who did that to her cats - AND kept them in to subvert their normal hunting........they became ill and died within a couple of years.......

I heard somwhere that many Buddists believe that cats are the only non-sentient beings (they don't have souls) As the are the only animal that will kill just for fun - other than humans of course...
