Hello everybody

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Hello everybody

Post: # 37050Post kali291 »

My wife and I plus sprogs left the wilds of Suffolk for the wilds of Ireland some 5 years ago.
We have finally settled in a 3 bed rented farm cottage, miles from anywhere, huge garden, own little wood, stream at bottom of garden, lake at bottom of lane, and a resident complement of 13 peacocks and 4 guinea fowl!
The garden has not been touched for several years, so its going to be quite a challenge. When people say be careful what you wish for .........
Anyway, the plan is to be self sufficient ish by next summer, so I'm sure I'll be scouring your forums for all the advice I can get.
I will also add that our move to Ireland was, although quite 'spur of the moment', the best thing we have ever done. Just put a roof on the place and it would be perfect

Sounds idyllic, apart from no roof! No roof? Yikes!

Welcome :)

 Think my grammar needs sorting. What I actually meant is that Ireland needs a roof
