ANDY & DAVE; Ready, Steady... Well what are you waiting

Do you think The Good Life could be remade, with me or Dave playing Tom Good (maybe not!)? If you have seen something on TV or heard something on the radio recently that you want to talk about, tell us here.

ANDY & DAVE; Ready, Steady... Well what are you waiting

Post: # 21793Post Muddypause »

It occurred to me a couple of days ago that Andy and Dave would be perfect as guests on Ready Steady Cook. You could each take in a selection of foraged food and organic produce that the chefs had never heard of. You could insist on presenting you food in a hessian bag rather than a plastic carrier bag. You could smile through gritted teeth as Ainsley Harriot patronised you for your peculiar tastes...

Great idea - especially if one of them took in a big bunch of stinging nettles!

Hee Hee
Yeah stinging nettles, dandelion leaves (or syrup), some sea kale perhaps? Shall we start a list?

I actually talked to dave about this a while back and he did not seem interested. I like the take on it though, I bet that they won't allow a big bag of nettles though.

I saw one the other day with a woman saying that she has grown stuff for years and that she loves courgettes as they can be grown in 6 weeks!

6 weeks? God forbid, I'm still trying desperately to eat all last year's courgette soup from the freezer! Thankfully the only plant that has germinated so far is tiny, and I planted it 3 weeks ago!

Watch this space as we might be on something else, early stages as yet and will only be for 2 or three mins - will let you know more as I do.

How did I miss this post? I have often thought about going on Ready Steady Cook but something in me tells me the reality of it wouldn't be as great as I imagined. If I was paired up with Anthony Worrel Thompson I'd want to lamp him by the end of the show.

I think it's a good idea. If Dave didn't fancy doing it, how about other SSF'ers. Stonehead maybe?

A friend of mine met Anthony Doo Da Thompson the other day and said he was a really nice guy. Jeremey Clarkson was also there....well..... less said about what she thought about him!

damn missed this thread!!

I think its a great idea. Don't they get a budget to spend on food? I think its something like 5 or 10 quid.

Can you imagine them both taking 2 or 3 bags full and saying 'this lot was free! Grew this...grew this...ooh. found this! grew this...'

I'd watch it anyway...

I'm coming round to this idea. We could turn up with bags and bags of home grown veg and foraged mushrooms and give them their fiver back.

I'd love to see what they'd do with a bag full of nettles and Andy could turn up with some road kill (he keeps threatening to eat it someday).
