Are these greengages?

We picked about 8 1/4 pounds of these small sweet greeny-gold plums today (and left many more on the tree, so might go back again another day!)

Are they greegages?
Or if not, what are they?

Difficult to tell the size from your photo, they could be greengages, but as they are quite small they may be myrolaban plums

Yeah, sorry, i should have mentioned the size!

They are about the size of a cherry tomato - and are sweet enough to eat raw

I would say they are myrolaban plums then, used a lot as hedging and grow wild, they come in different colours, dark red, yellow, yellow flushed with red, the bushes or trees sometimes have spines on them

The trees didnt have thorns and were probably escapees from a nearby garden as there was at least one large one in there alongside some apple trees

Someone else has suggested they might be Mirabelles
Will have to visit the tree in blossom time to see if that helps in the identification!

Think i will play safe and just call the resultant jam "Golden Plum Jam" when offered for sale

The jam is delicious!

But sadly didnt stay yellow like the plums - a nice orangy-red tho
