Hello....again!

Post: # 261854Post oneboyandhistruck »

Hello everyone,
This is my second time of joining 'ish' - this time I feel I will be sticking around! Previously I had joined as a 'wishful thinker' (username mattandhannah? back in 2005ish - can't quite remember) whilst living in the centre of the city and starting up a new (property) business.
Fast forward to now - and I am married (to Matt  ), have an 8 month old son and are currently progressing a purchase of a beautiful farmhouse and 8 acres in south Shropshire. The reality of all our dreaming is about to hit - and we'll be needing your wisdom & experience as we've only very little of our own!
The idea is to lease the land to a local sheep farmer for now - but keeping enough on which to put free range hens (eggs and table) and vegetable patch/allotment. Further down the line, once we have settled in and understand a bit more about everything, we will be looking to make the land work for us - though what that means in reality we are yet to find out.
To be honest, the dream is more about raising our son (and any subsequent, fingers crossed) in the countryside and a rural community - and with his grandparents (my parents, who will be living with us, albeit in a separate part of the house with a separate front door/bathroom/kitchen etc). Space, views, lack of traffic/police sirens/litter etc.
I even plan to join the WI - hee hee!
Anyway, it is good to be back. I recognise so many of the regular posters and look forward to connecting again.
Happy Jubilee!

Hi there and welcome back!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!
