i have fan trained peach tree in my greenhouse (a stick from the final days of Woolies)... this year a good crop of potential peaches... except that some of them are splitting
is this a watering problem? not enough or too much?
or a greenhouse too hot / cool / variable?
split peaches
Re: split peaches
Its more than likely irregular watering. Some varieties are more prone than others. The similar effect is very noticed in certain cherry varieties as well.
With 40 years experience the goodlife normally ends up costing money one way or the other, and a bad back ???

Re: split peaches
Not a subject i know very much about, but i know that tomatoes can be tasteless unless they get fed as well as watered (one old neighbour told me that a kind of sheep's jobbies tea is best!!!), and i wondered if the principle was true for peaches also?dave45 wrote:and worse ... the peaches are totally tasteless!

I can't wait to get my greenhouse up, I got it from a nearby house that was being demolished and it had a peach tree in it then, i'm definitely going to give it a go, cause the fresh peaches were gorgeous!
