the kindness of internet people!!!

Post: # 236071Post mrsflibble »

I wanted to have a doodle converted to an embroidery file which I can then put on my machine to make pretty things. mainly as a gift, part of a mixed media artwork piece I am working on for my friend's wedding... I can't afford the software myself and have tried a trial version and HATED it... but have found a lady who will do it for me. I offered her home made things, a copy of the embroidery etc and she said no, just give a favour to someone else if they need it... downside? she needed a vector file not bitmapped or raster image (different ways of compressing images, can explain the difference if you need me to but it's long winded), so I then needed to find someone who would convert .jpeg to .AI for me.....I put out a plea on a parening website I frequent, got the AI!!! again I offered a swap, but Jay wont take anything to do the work for me and again just asked that I "pay it forward". I am so overwhelmed with kindness right now that I want to cry!

so many wonderful helpful people!!!!

it reminds me of a coupl of years ago, I wanted a specific pattern to make Sophie a coat. it was a vintage pattern and out of print, unavailable unless I was willing to spend $40 plus import taxes, postage etc... I put a comment out on craftster just saying how Iwas disappointed, not expecting anything and OMG a lady from texas emailed me and offered me her 1970s pattern in return for a box of british sweeties! I sent her £10 worth of choccies, postage was about £8 and she sent back the most amaing box of goodies. mexican hot chocolate, ranch dressing powder, ribbons, postcards and the pattern.

<3 today, people d not suck :)

here is the doodle :) I am currently working on a hand embroidery version too lol.

That's lovely Mrs F, and by that I mean the doodle and the sentiment too. :hugish: Sometimes we get so wound up by a handful of nasty people, that you forget that there are lovely people out there too.

Wow, I love the doodle. And the story is great too. Yes, we do spend so much time worrying about the bad (and being force fed it by the media) that we forget just how great people are.

Grant your two favours wisely. You can give others out for free any time.

<3 thanks everyone!! well, I have emailed the adobe illustrator file over to lady lin and am awaiting a shiny new .PES file back ;)

while I wait, I simplified the sketch a bit and traced it onto a bit of fabric and am doing it by hand too lol.... but I made thw lady's arm a little more chunky and the man's a little more hairy, gave him a beardyness and made his hair a bit more messy too.... me and hubby perhaps?! lol!

It's very beautiful, just showed it to my bloke too who's very arty, he's well impressed by it. You're a woman of many, many talents Flibble! Creativity is obviously your gift!

As for internet people, I've been in touch with so many kind people, especially on sites like this. It's lovely to know there are such lovely people out there.

I think if I was stitching that into something, they would have really short straight hair!

It's absolutely lovely by the way.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

Mrs F, as always I am very impressed.
I to agree with helping people if and when you can, not expecting anything in return.
This week, found out a work mate was not getting his correct hourly rate, had a word, hence he is now getting the correct rate and also the back pay, which is a good sum..
Received the best present ever, a cuddle

Beautiful work mrsfibble, makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside looking at it (also makes me wish I looked like her!). As for kindness of internet people I can say that Suzie here on -ish was so lovely to send me some beautiful beads for free. It really gave me hope to know there are some people who are so generous and kind out there. Seems all you ever hear about is bad news and it does get depressing so to hear of something like this is great. Big hug for Suzie and the others :hugish: .

I seem to remeber that a certain frined of yours was very kind to me too, Mrs F. It spreads - what goes round comes round. Yay for the good stuf
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free

It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!
