Hi there,

I'm fairly new to this growing your own food thing, we have a typical town garden (long and narrow) but we have a 30 ft wall to the right of us (west that is) basically by 3.30 the garden is in shade are we off to a non starter? I was thainking of raising the beds to gain as much precious sunlight as possible, but I'm not sure this will be enough. Is it still worth trying? :flower:

Hi and welcome

Definitely go for growing veg - lots do OK in partial shade. And you can probably make use of the wall too - just find shade loving climbers.

Hello

Sounds great not sad to me

If there's anywhere to put up hanging baskets that would get sun you could grow some yummy tumling tomatoes in them. :thumbright:

Hi and welcome! Lettuce is always happiest in shade in mid summer as it bolts quickly in the sun.
