Greetings from West Sussex
Hello.
I'm Aida, and I live in a small town called Midhurst with my OH, John and 6 children, ages ranging from 3 months to 10 years old. I work as a midwife and my OH is a full time househusband, although following the birth of our last child, that might soon change.
We home educate our children and have done so for the past four years. Our house has a small-ish garden which has never had any work done on it (we moved here 2 years ago) and this summer, we have started digging some borders and generally making decisions as to what we want to put in. The children and I are planning a vegetable patch, as I think it would be a great learning experience for them (the children just fancy the idea of mucking about and growing things which is great).
We're somewhat ecologically friendly. We recycle, have a compost bin and a food digester in the garden. We try to buy locally but that can be a bit limiting in a small town like Midhurst. I would like to reduce the amount of 'animals' we eat and am looking forward to using more beans and pulses (I sense a glut of dhals and varieties of vegetable curries). We have recently started using soapnuts for our washing (OH wasn't convinced) and I think it's brilliant stuff, I just put a few drops of essential oil in the fabric conditioner compartment. We also use washable nappies as we have two children in nappies.
Anyway, great to find this forum.

Hi Lotus_eater
Greetings from the East Sussex coast. I'm some way from you -the nearest I've been to Midhurst is Arundel, and even that's not that close really.
