here are these things, The skinny pink flowered one is quite pretty, the long things appear to be seed pods developing and the whole thing is delicate and spindly.
The other one is a greyish light green popped up in my garlic, no sign of flowers yer.. reminded me of an opium poppy but the leaves are ruffled rather that jagged shape.. any ideas?

The first one made me think poppy the moment I saw it, though can't be sure - are you going to let it flower?
Dunno about the 2nd one, it looks like I've seen it before but don't know what it is.
And your poppy is surrounded by chickweed
- edible but tasteless, I just did a "show off to a neighbour that I know what I'm talking about" with chickweed the other day, then wished I hadn't.

Looks like one of these...
http://www.poppies.org/gallery/album01/Dscn0010
The second one with the funny tiny flowers pops up in my garden now and then.
But I can't tell you what it is either.
Edit;
I think it could be a member of this family.

My guess is Dwarf Willowherb,one of the plants at the bottom of that page.
My search-fu was strong tonight

The second one I'm 99% certain that it's a willowherb... can't really tell from the picture, but because it looks like it has square stems, possibly epilobium tetragonum (square stemmed willowherb). Mind, willowherbs can hybridise and it's kinda hard to tell without actually having the plant to hand (plus, it could be that the stems only *look* square in the pics...).
Apparently you can eat the young roots, shoots and leaves of most willowherbs, but they're a bit bitter I find, and I'm not sure I'd really ever want to experience an entire meal with them.
