Just a thought make sure you have the television rigged up in your room. Its all very well talking about the computer but you may not find it easy to operate.

I was laid up for two months some years ago with back problems and couldn't even sit up so my only enjoyment was the TV. Even had to lie flat to eat, make sure you have straws for drinking - otherwise it gets rather messy

Thanks for all your good wishes, and I am at the moment waiting for the car to take me to the Hospital which is a two hours drive down the motorway. So will be in touch as soon as I get back home, which should be sometime early next week. Thanks to you all once again,

Commiserations - and speedy recovery! I've spent most of the last week on my back, having developed an upper back problem (just to be different). Had to give up the only job I've had for a while, and absolutely hate being so inactive. I've managed to find a way of knitting while lying down, though - so maybe you could take that up? ;)
Mind you, radio 4 alone keeps me busy most of the day...

So, got back Wednesday morning, got a great welcome from the Dogs and cats and the OH was quite pleased to see me, and the good news is that I can get up and walk about, twice a day for ten minutes. A young lady of about 25 or so, comes by every other day, so I lay there as she removes the old dressing and always remarks , Oh that looks good , which is quite nice of her as I have never been told I'v a good looking bum. Anyway, nice to be home and Thanks again for all the good wishe's.

Glad to hear you are home and on the mend. I'm getting prodded and poked in about 7 hours time for the same reasons of having a bit of a bad back,

I have been scared about going under the knife formanyyears but the time will come, Keep us up to date Old Fella....

Glad you are home Eddy and that all went well. Being able to get up even for a little bit will make a huge difference I'm sure. Like being able to go to the toilet properly!
