Hello from Yorkshire
Hi, just come across this forum/site, quite a few interesting subjects, like the name Selfsufficientish, cause its true, its very difficult to be totally self sufficient. well I've been 'Selfsufficientish' for thirty years now, we don't buy much at all, the 'Good Life' started us off in our semi with a large garden with six chickens and a veg plot, that became to small to keep our family in food all year round so plus we wanted to know where our food came from, this was long before tracability came in, so we now have a smallholding with several acres which we have had for 25 years, we recycle all things possible and I'm terrible at not passing skips, cause people throw out all sorts of good items, timber, metal, wheels etc. I've found the main thing with self-sufficiency is staying power, wether you do it on a small or large scale, don't give in if you have disappointments, organise you systems well so its not a grind, keep plugging on because you will have more successes than failures. I am looking forward to reading all your ideas and hopefully contributing on this forum. , wished I’d found this site years ago, best wishes to all.

Welcome from another nearly newbie...
You must have some great expertise on a few things! I know what you mean about passing a skip and always wanting to see what is inside!

Hi there and welcome

Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!
