Getting back into Ish

Post: # 208030Post Thurston Garden »

After far too long an absence, I hope to spend more time back in the joys of ish. I still remember the day I found the forum - a day I did not get much done cos I read and read and read back through the threads.

I have been dipping in an reading little bits over the past months, but now I am back on an even keel since giving the ex the Spanish Archer I want to get back on track ish-wise and also spend more time in here!

In the last year I have moved house twice (in the space of 10 day!), moved office too (no more Thurston Market Garden - the blog has been dormant for ages now), but on the upside, I have outline planning for a new strawbale house, and I see that the planner has recommended approval of my detailed consent today although I have not yet been officially notified. I have also kept 2 Berkshire pigs (who are now VERY cold and very tasty!) I used a different butcher who cured the back ends and the bellies yum yum. I have also been trying to grow what veg I can on my parents wee veg garden - I planted out my spring cabbages on Monday and hope to receive my garlic and overwintering Onions this week.

I am hoping to make a concentrated effort to get involved in Wooplaw Community Woodland

I slipped into the old routine of going to A$da on the way home from work on a Friday evening. I am making a concentrated effort to cut this down as much as possible. A 20 minute walk takes me to Melrose where there are two butchers, a deli, a greengrocers and a wee co-op (which actually does organic milk!). Sorted.

It's good to see lots of the same old faces still here. It's also good to see so many new ones too - I hope to get to know you all soon!

Hi again TG

Welcome back. I must admit I have just had to google Spanish Archer  but I must say you sound enthusiastic and happy, so the old spaniard must have done you good! :flower:

Look forward to hearing about your new life.
