Avoid alcohol before bed, although it will send you to sleep it acts as a stimulant so will wake you up later on. Might be why you have been waking up at 3.00pm.

It happens to me too, awake at 4 or 5 and then look at my watch, countdown until the alarm clock goes (2h of sleep left. 1h30 of sleep left) It drives me nuts! my body is usually willing to sleep about 10min before official wake up time. grrr
I realised that it happens everytime I have a bigger meal or eat later than usual, so now I try to be careful but it doesn't always work...
Good side of it: I had fresh bread this morning as I had time to preheat the oven, bake, cool, slice, all in time for breakfast!

Clean bedsheets, a small herbal tea before bed (too much and you'll be waking up to use the loo) and a lavendar pillow (it really does relax you).
