Red has said it all really. Twins is about the norm, and sheep will care for twins as happily as singles.

Just to update you, we had more twins born on Sunday night, one didn't make it but the other is a happy ewe lamb.
Then we had a single ewe lamb this morning.

Just for anyone who is interested, these are Black Welsh Mountain sheep and Red's are ??????? but she can tell you more about them.

red, I love my goats (easy animal) and Edgar (the ram) seems to like them too.

Ed is an experiment. We got him just to see if the daily toil was agreeable to us and more importantly if he could handle the weather without being high maintenance. Our goats get the very best small amount of care that diary goats can thrive on. With a little planning and experience that can be reduced to a surprisingly small amount.

We live at the bottom of a mountain. The only other sheep in the area are at the top. It is much cooler up there and they get much less rain up there. We have been warned that sheep often get skin infections in this area. We plan to slaughter him when/if the temperature and humidity become a problem. If they never become a problem, he goes with the grass in the fall.

If all goes well, we will get two bred ewes early next spring.
