Buh....Buh....Buh.....another one bites the dust......

Is it me, or does there seem to be more and more of these spam-peddlars recently? I can't remember when I joined, but do you have to do the 'New People' bit in order to view the rest of the forum (so you clever mods can check on IP addresses and such?) Or are these just very polite spammers we're attracting?

You don't need to say anything in the welcome section to see the rest of the forum. However there have been spammers for years but they change their habits as time goes by. Once upon a time they just wanted to blatantly advertise p0rn and drugs, nowadays they can be more subtle and pretend to be real people by saying some sort of blurb that makes you think 'are they spam or real?'. That's why we spend more time checking IP addresses and googling usernames and it's more time consuming than the old blatant spam/quick zap! We still get the blatant spam though as well only these days it's dvds and *gg boots!
