Sausage and wild mushroom risotto.
It was the last of the autumn dried wild mushrooms :( . Stock for the rice came from a road-kill pheasant at the weekend  .

Superb; washed down with elderberry wine..

I made a mock-minestrone soup to use up what was left of the veggies - just the veg diced small, tin of chopped tomatoes, some paprika, salt and pepper, basil and oregano and a pint and a half of vegetable stock left on a low heat for a while, then a tin of mixed beans and some wholemeal spaghetti snapped up small chucked in for the last 10 minutes. Dead easy, and cost about 60p to make (the tins, everything else was just getting used up instead of going in the compost) enough for 2 meals for 4 people. The rest is in the freezer for next week.
Now I have realised that wine has destroyed all my taste buds and I shall never get to the Masterchef final, I much prefer the 'randomly chuck things in a pan and hope for the best' approach. At least if it's crap I've not slaved over it...
I took my dog to play frisbee. She was useless. I think I need a flatter dog.

Cooked pork cutlets - braised them with caramalised onino and pears poached in a spiced wine and vinegar sauce.

I'm clucking round the house with my chest feathers all puffed up with pride because yesterday evening I set up the fermentation of my first sauerkraut batch and this morning I'm eating my first successful attempt at yoghurt. Such a great feeling!! There's a dance too - it seems making yoghurt brings on the Yog Dance. I don't think I could be happier even if I'd just won an olympic medal. woop woop. Next thing to try out is tempeh...

Moussaka -as we had an aubergene in the veg box. First time I have made it - really easy until I realised that I only had beef mince. So it was a beef moussaka, but tasted fine!

Turkey stock
Veg soup
Pasta sauce with left-over pork
Fruit cake
2 loaves of bread (in the machine  )

I have some jelly to finish but that might have to wait until tomorrow

Fish pie made with Pollack...

I'm not a huge fish fan to be honest but wanted to give it a try after HFW gave it rave reviews and as we got some from our local Farmers Market I thought why not!

It's really nice and definitely very Cod like in taste. It's one of the fish that's caught alot around these parts and as we've taken up fishing it will be nice to catch something I know I like

Might not seem exciting or interesting but I'm chuffed I managed to make it as my back pain means I can't stand for more than a few minutes at a time these days so even simple things become a gargantuan task.
