Oh bugger

Tomorrow's World was a show on BBC TV about innovations and tech stuff and I thought a good name for our computing and tech section.

i personally would try and get a new laptop charger ( keep the receipt because if it doesn't help you can take it back plead it was the wrong one ) i did this once similar problem and it turned out to be the charger.

Not a Toshiba is it Russ? OH had terrible problems with his - the design and position of the power cable made the inside connection weak. So eventually it broke and he had to solder it. It worked for a while then the same thing happened and he kept on fixing it until eventually it went to the great laptop heaven.

Short answer, go to laptop doctor. I assume you're using the right cable - they all have their own non-standard jack plug (or whatever its called). OH tried replacing his to try to overcome the problem and at least one of the replacements was too short, so it sort of made a connection but most of the time didn't
