re. business - It is supposedly for creating hype about your business, you friend people with similar interests and put up photos of your work. It is basically just another version of handing around a business card, or sticking a leaflet up. If you are online you use all these sites to make contacts and get your business exposure. Its all good and well having a website but to tell people about your website is the important thing.

Facebook seems to be where it's all happening but I have decided not to use it. I use flickr, twitter, a blog, and forums on crafting sites... I don't think I can cope with anymore. just now.

Another thing seems to be (in the world of online crafting and selling) that you are really rather odd if you use any of these 'tools' for personal enjoyment rather than self-promotion... so I have 2 blogs and 2 twitter accounts for that reason.... it is all very tiring and time consuming and it isn't translating into sales so I think it is mostly a waste of time. :geek:

I agree with Wulf - your next move should be to set up your own webpage.

I didn't mean to say that I wasn't going to, sorry... I was just saying why people use Facebook to promote.

Wish I understood it too, joined when invited by a workmate and daughter in law, said no to all 'friends' except them - and haven't been back to look since - can't see how anything 'works'

It is going OK, lots of interest from customers and a few enquiries from stockists, but not many actual sales yet. I am hoping things will move quicker over the Christmas shopping period. I make most of my sales to USA so around thanksgiving I expect it will pick up..... I hope it will :geek:
