NEW - Sept Photo Competition

Post: # 168036Post Millymollymandy »

Due to popular demand we've finally got round to starting a new competition for this month and the subject title is HARVEST.

Will keep this open until the last day of September.

There may be a few small prizes courtesy of some of our lovely mods (and possibly a book on sheep going spare too  ).

So post away with your serious/fun/whatever photos of whatever you're harvesting! :flower:

You can definitely add the Sheep book to the list of prizes. Although I've had endless fun trying to imagine seacuttercat towing a couple of surfing Texels behind her boat. She has kindly offered to put it back in the prize pool.

I dunno whether plonking the whole cherry tomato plant on the table counts as a harvest.

Great photo Susie!

Oh by the way I am going to join in this comp and in the event of any tie we (us Ishers) will sort out some way for someone's pet gerbil to pick the winner.

No artistry, but quantity. Here's mine:

This isn't even half of my harvest.... I used pumpins as weed-suppressants on my allotment in this year of me moving twice (and 100 km away from the allotment). This haul was to take some of my equipment and much of my harvest away from the allotment. A bit sad to leave it after 4 years, I must say.

One days harvest!

I grow italian Roma tomatoes each year just incase its a good year for tomatoes - this year was. I grow 5 other varieties from english Harbinger to french Coeur de Boeuf and all did extremely well but the Roma are the best for bottling and making sauces to bring some summer warmth into the coming chilly seasons!

I'm very proud of this. I call it The Hungry Intruder after the classic Small Faces track! A birdylaid crawling along my bean's bamboo pole..

Turns out my stomach wasn't the only one rumbling that day!
