Is it just my laptop?

Post: # 143106Post Graye »

Now we are back in the UK for a while I'm using a laptop on a wireless connection. I'm sure this site was working normally to begin with but now it's doing something a little disconcerting. Every time it opens the site or any topics it automatically takes me to the bottom of the page rather than the top. This doesn't happen on any other site I access. Is it just my laptop or are other people having similar problems here?

Well I'm glad it's not just me! I thought I'd buggered up my internet settings somehow

Hi Graye, i've also had the same problem this week, but only on "ish", & also on a laptop, via a router. It all seems sorted now, ...tho' it happened again (once) 'bout 1/2 hr ago.
it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.

Slightly off topic but I can't be bothered to start a new thread. Is it just my eyesight going or is there some very tiny light blue text at the top right hand of the screen which is totally illegible? It's just under the text that says "Selfsuffiiciency, surrealism and something you should read - the wonderful world of Dave's blog?".

Cheers
Zoe

Sorry Zoe, but there is legible print where you say is a faint blue light....... but you have made me feel so much more confident in my own eye-sight!! ( & i have Fuchs Dystrophy....... no, i hadn't heard of it either, 'til 2yrs ago)!! ... should've gone to Specsavers!!!
it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.

Yes it is pale blue to me too.... John Headstrong has been tinkering, to make the site smoother and better, but I think sometimes things go askew and need more fixing.

Wow! I can read the tiny blue writing too. I'm amazed as I've just had ONE contact lens fitted today so that I can read without reading specs (the other eye is great for long distance so this way I have a workable pair)

I had thought the vision was not too good for reading but this has convinced me things will be OK. Apparently it takes your brain a couple of days to adapt to two eyes doing different things so I was prepared for a difficult period.

Oh, and it does seem the web age problem has been fixed. Thanks!

Ok - so it's my eyesight :( or maybe it's my screen that's the problem  but I definitely can't read it.

Oh well, best accept now that I'm getting old.
