Hello from Kent

Post: # 137263Post kentishgirl »

Hello to everyone.

What a great forum. Lots of info on things i'd like to know more about. Am looking forward to virtually meeting fellow ish'ers!!

I'm a keeper of chickens and just about to dig up some of my garden to plant a few veggies and cut down on the amount of bags of salad I buy from T***o!! Just waiting for these hard frosts to pass - so that I can get the fork in .... well I say 'I' but the hubby will be doing the digging bit. tee hee!!

Hi and welcome! I am from Kent too! No chickens here though :-(

Salad is loads cheaper when you grow it yourself, you can even do it on the kitchen windowsill for maximum ease! (no excuse for skipping salad at dinner then though..)

Our allotment is completely frosted over at the moment but apparently it should ease up for us down here next week! (so get hubby ready to dig)

Can't wait until the frosts are over either. Well at least it is hopefully killing off some of the slug population. Aparently last year in the summer there were more slugs in the Somerset and Devon than people in the world.

Anyway I digress, welcome to the forum.

Welcome to ISH,

Eccentric-Emma is right, I have a couple of cut-n-come again salad plants on my bedroom window sill (it gets the most light). You could start a few in pots now then, when the ice age is over, venture outside...
