Wasn't REALLY sure whether to post this here, or be pedantic and post it under 'fruits'!
I've got 6 cherry tomato plants growing outdoors. We've started to see the first trusses appear at long last (yay!). Bit confused....do I now remove EVERYTHING that is growing below the first truss on each plant (i.e. strip it completely bare below the first truss?) And do I wait for the flowers to die off beforehand, or do I remove stuff whilst the flowers are still there?
I luvs my wee plants, I don't want to cause them suffering....the weather is making a pretty good job of that by itself!
Thanks in advance!

Trusses on cherry tomatoes....
I took my dog to play frisbee. She was useless. I think I need a flatter dog.

Re: Trusses on cherry tomatoes....
No you only need to remove the side shoots if it is a cordon variety, f it is a bush type (which some cherry types are) you dont. If it is a cordon type when you have about six trusses pinch out the top of the plant.
The only time to remove all foliage is if the time is getting on and this will speed up ripening.
don't forget to feed every 10 days or so and water frequently...especially if in pots.

Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional!
